Rydges Hotel Upgrade
Service provided: Demolition of all mechanical equipment, installation of new chillers and cooling towers
Client: A.G Coombs & Schiavello
Millennium successfully executed the demolition and removal of all existing mechanical equipment from the site, which included block walls, switchboards, boilers, and pumps. Following this, a 450-ton crane was utilised to rig in new equipment, including an air handling unit (AHU), cooling tower, and supporting steel structures. This complex operation was efficiently completed over a single weekend, specifically on Saturday and Sunday.
The operation required a temporary closure of Little Bourke Street to ensure safety and accommodate the crane's setup. The old piping extending from the basement to the roof was carefully removed using engineered lifting brackets. This approach allowed for precise execution of the work while maintaining the highest safety standards.
