Next DC M2 Stage 5 Phase 2
Services: Rigging
Client: D&E Air Conditioning
A total of 28 Environmental Flow Control (EFC) units were unloaded and de-boxed at the Footscray facility. This initial stage involved carefully removing the units from their packaging to verify that they were in perfect condition and ready for transportation. Proper handling procedures were strictly followed to prevent any damage during this process.
Following unloading and de-boxing, the EFC units were transported to the Tullamarine facility for assembly. Coordinating logistics was crucial to ensure the safe and timely delivery of all 28 units between the two facilities, avoiding any delays or issues in transit.
At the Tullamarine facility, a combination of tower cranes and mobile cranes was used to rig each EFC unit through the side of the building. The cranes played a critical role in lifting the units into position, requiring precise maneuvering due to their size and weight. This operation necessitated careful coordination between crane operators and ground crews to ensure the units were lifted safely and accurately.
Once inside the building, the EFC units were maneuvered into their final positions using specially designed engineered tracks. These tracks allowed the units to be skated smoothly across the floor to their designated spots without additional heavy lifting. This method ensured precise placement while minimizing the risk of damage to both the units and the building.
The use of engineered tracks also streamlined the installation process by reducing the time and labor required to position the EFC units accurately, contributing to an efficient and effective operation.
